I'm fairly new to caravanning and I'm going to take my relatively recently acquired caravan to France next month. I've got the equipment necessary for electric hook up in the UK. Do I need anything different for hook up in France?
Depends on the site you are going to visit. A great many use the same connections as we have in UK. Some still use a continental 2 pin connection. A short adaptor is available in all accessory shops or on ebay. Cost is only a couple of pounds.
You may also encounter sites with reverse polarity. A cheap tester is available at the same places. A debate rages over reverse polarity and if it matters. Personally I have made up an adaptor to correct it.
I don't know if it matters so I put it back to what we are used to.
as said above take both connectors you will need them both sometimes the same site will have both connections depending on the newness of the pitch cost is irrelevant in the old days I made my own
