Just a quick question. If you guys cook under a porch or tent extension, is there no chance of the tent burning, excess moisture from cooking, harmful gases etc..... I have a voyager 6 tent, and this year I was going to buy a coleman dual fuel cooker and kampa style kitchen unit. I was presuming i was going to cook outside, but since seeing your pics, i might get the extendable section and cook within there......

Hi Nickb23,

I have the Voyager 6 too - we actually cook inside if weather foul (although just bought the porch so plan to use that in future!). There are risks wherever you cook, but if cooking inside it sits on the right hand side (looking at it from the front door) With the vent opened and guyed out to provide ventilation - and doors partially opened (for same). I ensure it isnt too close to the tent and have everything prepared and ready so it isnt on too long (partially for gas saving too!).

Some people will say you should never cook under canvas - and there is good reason but if your very sensible and aware of the dangers (in order to minimise) it is an option. I would never tell anyone it's a safe option - but with the things i put in place i am happy it's safe enough for me and my family. [and never even turn my back when it is on].

Put simply yes there are dangers but these can be minimised with common sense and caution
