Some people are never satisfied!!!!! Last year we bought a Pennine Pullman and love camping. However, due to premature old age, joint problems and a recent car accident - I find the beds really hard on my back and hips.

Julie did tell me about something you can buy to put on the mattress to soften the feel of them up a bit. Any ideas on what that might be, how much it would cost and where to get one??? The Spring approaches and I must sort this out as it ruins my enjoyment of camping.

Hi lorraine have you tried the foam mattress toppers theyre quite comfy not sure if thats what you are looking for .we use them in our TT

We use airbeds with a fitted sheet in our camper. works a treat.

We use these the roll up ones not cheap but Brilliant

ours are the ones that look like egg boxes as well we leave them on top the beds and fold it all down together .they squash quite flat but soon spring back to life ,i also think they make the beds warmer ,extra insulation

Mattress toppers - they sound familiar. So, Pam - the ones you have - are they the ones for home or the ones for camping as in the link JenAll put up - or something different - I don't mind spending £80ish pounds but want to make sure I get the right thing!!!!!!!!!!!!

the ones we used were ones I had at home for our beds I haven't seen the ones for camping

i think i got them mail order from 1 of my catalogues  but I'm pretty sure llidels have had them

I dont know when they will get anymore

Hi Lorraine. The ones Jen has put the link to are not that expensive when compared to the memory foam ones, and they are reckoned to be good.

If I'm tenting, I use an egg box one that I inherited from my parents & find it very good but it is a 4" thickness.

I've just had a look at the camping ones and I must say they look very nice but are a bit more expensive

the safe foam ones are what we have, you can only give it a try

always use it for storing your eggs in if its no good

There were only two of us in our Pullman - so we put one mattress on top of the other.
