Despite the hats, candles and sprays, the midges drive my OH batty. I have found two midge nets (mossie nets have bigger holes) and wondered if anyone has tried rigging one up for sitting under, as they are designed for beds. There is a double version of this and thought about fixing to side of tent. midge net

ASDA have a screened gazebo for £25 at the moment.
And there you should leave it! They look like a thing you put over food/cheese platters on a table to keep flies off. Slightest bit of a breeze and the screened gazebo flies off! How do I know? Seen one in action in Brixham last month. Hopeless bit of kit.
I don't really want to be carrying anything substantial we have no room. Nets only weigh few hundred gms and pack small.
The size of the holes in the mesh matters as midges are sneaky and get through most mesh.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
