It's a great shop to pop into and find some lovely camping equipment. Ive just bought a mosquito net for my head, which I think cost me around 2 pounds. I've also bought a couple of stoves, the first being a compact gas stove that fits in my hand costing around 9 pounds, and for £10 I've picked up 2x mess tins, 2x knife, folk and spoon plus 1x hexi cooker with 2x tablets.
So I've got my poncho (58 pat) from Endicottes, all I need now is a bivi bag so I can wild camp with a very low profile. It's all good
------------- The true test of fairness is how fair you are to those who are not
Don't forget a small bit of scourer to clean the black residue off the base of the mess tins from the hexi tablets. An old tea bag has been known to work too for this. A bit of foil will prove useful as a lid or one of the foil containers pies come in and a folding aluminium windbreak (Wilkos do those too) is useful to keep the heat up. We use a small pair of sugar tongs (off ebay) to add hexi tabs to increase the length of burn.
BTW - original Esbit tabs (available online) are purer than the high street versions, but they all stink and are toxic so cook away from the tent. As you will get flames going down as well as up, its best to use the burner on a non-flammable surface or stone.
A cut down brewers mesh works wonders as a collander.
Wilkos have done some fab camping gear. We've bought folding buckets, folding stove windshields and knife and fork sets from them previously, but had to take back some of their other camping gadgets - eg. kids head torches - not good! They also do the Highlander style folding loos and bags and under their household section fitted fleecy mattress covers for our airbeds and UFO lights.
------------- Love our set-up and need no more tents or gear, so trying to stop looking!
