if you have a polycotton tent it matches the tent , if you have a polyester tent it matches the tent. thats all you can say they both do there job plus polyester is cheaper - shaun
We never guy on the inside of our windbreak. We have an Outdoor revolution 'vision' and while every stake has a guy the 2 outside ones have 2 guys. One behind and one in front slightly to the side. Never had any problems when pitching on the east coast and even used it in 25mph winds (with deltas of course).
You do have to make sure you tension the windbreak with the guys to the side of the ends or the whole thing will just not be stable.
Have got both polycotton and polyester outwell windscreens, used them both together and there was no difference in performance in strong winds that we found.
IMO the only difference is that the polycotton looks better with the polycotton tent!
They are a pain to put up initially, especially if it's windy. We do put guys both sides of poles, either double pegged or with delta's and tentioned properly.
It does resemble spaghetti junction with all the guys from tent, extension and windscreens... agree on that one too!
