so much will depend on other things, such as what will they be sleeping on,sim or airbed.what do they wear to bed?fleece pj's,all in ones,or normal pj's,but the biggest question is do they feel the cold normally.

They will have airbed, foam mats, normally they wear pj's but have ordered fleecy pj's.  One of them usually says he is cold all of the time...

I tend to run cold all the time, I use fleece liner inside my sleeping bag and if it gets to warm I just open up the zip a bit and that tends to work for me..

So would you recommend a Season 3, liner and fleecy pj's?

Its really hard to say for each individual, bearing in mind most of my camping is in Scotland and generally the Highlands, so a nice warm day can turn into a cold damp night in summer in a valley. Its just trial and error and see what the kids prefer without being too cold or too warm..

Vangos are generaly ok for young uns if used with a liner   my daughter used a vango niteflite? I think and never once felt cold my wife uses a Coleman and feels the cold in that was going to invest in a buffalo bag but she didn't want one second hand   Best bag I've got is my old army doss bag it's a feather filled one with compression sac I got it issued in 1981 and I've used it since then I also use my old jungle bag in warm weather thought thats doubtful this year

One thing to remember is that a sleeping bag liner will generally add a season. So if sleeping bag is a 2 season, then liner will usually make it a 3 season.
I have also found that most camping sleeping bags are 1- 2 season and can be cold.
As someone has mentioned, Vango range are pretty good for camping, I bought Vango nitestar 250 for my 6 year old grandaughter which is fine for her when we take her camping.
I have a Vango Super Nova 5000 which is amazing but expensive, I also use it for my occasional backpack, it is quite big, even when compressed but well worth it for the warmth and comfort.
