Along with the OH we got soaked on friday putting the tent up, wife thought it was fun i still think we were crazy and probably a few people in caravans were laughing at us!!

when tent was up we noticed water coming through groundheet i'm after a kit to repair this and i would like to get it done first time round and not trying differnet things till fixed.

can anyone suggest a product? and where to repair inside-outside or both?

cheers

If it's through a hole, patch it both sides with Gorilla Tape (very strong duct tape). We did this to our footprint and it's never leaked.

why not use another groundsheet? we have always done this as it keeps the main tent clean when packing away the additionaly dirty sheet can be kept separate also acts another layer of insulation.

tenasious tape for a permanent repair as duct tape and the like has a habit of drying out

You would be better to use Tenacious Tape, made for the job and much neater.

How wonderful that your wife was able to laugh through adversity. You're a lucky man.

A pleasant change from arguing whilst pitching the tent, how does that help.

Canvas tent, paraffin light, petrol stove. Heaven
I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.

Arguing whilst pitching is part of our ritual when we camp the looks on other peoples faces is priceless   As for the rip in ground sheet. I would recommend tenacious tape as unlike duct tape it doesn't leave a sticky residue I patched up my vango Callisto and it's never leaked I just pit a patch either side of hole and jobs a good un
