Ive just bought a Coleman Event Shelter 12' X 12' and tried putting it up which I manged to do without too much difficlty.

However the shelter came with a ribbon whcih presumably acts as a tensionior in the event of wind but I have absolutely no idea how to fix it to the tent and it isn't covered in the instructions.

The tensionioner ribbon is about 10 X 10 in size .

Hello, we also struggled to know what to do with this ribbon as well, until we realised that it was in fact an aid to setting out the poles, so as they are in the right position!! If you lay it out on the ground in the shape of a triangle, you will see one long side and two sides the same length. The long side goes diagonally across the middle and the shorter sides go from one side pole to another.

Difficult to explain, but I think the first diagram on the feeble instructions show this, but without any explanation as to what it is.

We found this usefull so the legs were in just the right place so the height of the shelter was right. Its easy to splay the legs out too far and the shelter will be too low.

Hope this is of use to your setting up, its a marvellous piece of equipment, both in the sun and the rain.

Jackie
