We have a 1991 Fleetwood Garland caravan that we purchased earlier this year which has a Carver Cascade 2 water heater. We haven't used the water heater since purchasing the caravan as the previous owner said that it wasn't working but didn't explain why.
I hooked the caravan up to the electricity this morning along with the water/pump, ran both taps until the water was flowing freely and then switched the isolation switch on (illuminated light came on the switch) followed by the slide switch. The green light came on but was soon followed by the red. After a short while the water immersion/tank became warm and is now hot, but the water is still cold when I turn the tap on!
We will only be using the water heater through the electricity option as we've removed all of the gas from the caravan and would be most grateful for any advice on what I can possibly look at/replace and if it should still work using electricity only.
What a nightmare.....just noticed that there is no water connected to the heater. The water comes into the caravan, meets a Y connector and then goes off directly to the cold and hot taps.
I have now directed the red pipe onto the Hot connector at the top corner of the heater, which then leads towards the kitchen tap area and the blue pipe to the Cold connector at the bottom corner of the heater.
I will connect it all up tomorrow and hope that it's working and we now have hot water.
