Do u need to fully discharge a leisure battery to prolong its life or keep it topped up even in winter periods any advices would.be much appreciated thankyou
------------- Need to stop buying stuff running out of room in the car
...is a good cheap option for keeping a battery topped up over the winter. You can leave it connected, just check every so often because it needs to be re-set if it loses mains power for any reason.

Are these chargers any good or should i get a more expensive one? First winter in storage so thinking of bringing the battery home it's a new leisure battery bought about 3 months ago. Cheers
If all you want to use it for is to maintain charge in a battery over the winter then I would say they are fine. They will fully charge the battery then go into maintenance mode. There's no need to spend any more.
They put out a max of 3.8 Amps which means they would struggle to keep up with 'normal' domestic useage. For that you need a charger capable of putting out maybe 10 Amps or more. For such a charger you will pay considerably more.
I've used one of these for the last several years to maintain my boat 'domestic' (leisure) batteries over the winter.

I use mine, instead of the inbuilt charger, and have never had any problems. The chances are that you will not be using a lot of battery power during daylight and, as the charger is on permanently, it catches up overnight. Obviously, it won't cope if you're running a 12V coolbox
