Hello everyone,
I was wondering if anyone uses(MiFi) WiFi portable internet whilst camping? Has anyone used it in a really remote camp site

I use my "3" mobile tethered which is in effect the same with the same provider.
Coverage with "national roaming" is mixed from excellent to non existent. Even remote sites can be covered it simply depends if Three or a partner has an aerial nearby.

I feel as an add on to a mobile it is very useful but I would not buy it as yet another gubins and contract.

Weve been using MiFi now for around 6 months and find it really useful. If you are asking about network coverage then it all depends on your service provider just as it does for mobile phone coverage. We are on the 3 network and here in the South have only found one place where we couldnt get a signal.

The reason for us getting it was so we could connect multiple devices to the internet while out and about. Bought an unlocked adapter off Ebay and use a 3 simcard, which we already had in an Ipad, in it which now gives us mobile internet on an Ipod, Ipad and laptop

It might be financially "free" but comes at the huge cost of having to watch an advert for every 3.5 MB.
