I have done a search and found some threads on reversing cameras, however my question is has anyone purchased this particular model and does it work ok in your caravan and car.
I have a camera on my outfit but it is hardwired. They are brilliant and are so good on the motorway, as you can see everything behind you, not just each side, so much safer. Also very good for reversing. Mine is set so that when the wife's feet disappear under the caravan them I am still 2 metres from her, and haven't run her over ;-).
I don't know about the Ebay item but technology is moving on very quickly now. only thing that would worry me would be loss of signal from the back of the van to your car, but that may not be a problem in this instance...
Let's hope another member has bought one and can advise you better

How did you cope with the requirement to break the video and/or power cable at the hitch?
I have been looking for a suitable rear view system for some time and can't make my mind up whether to go wireless or not.
Reviews on wireless systems comment a lot about interference, especially when bluetooth devices are being used, but a hard wired four pin system, with waterproof connectors, is not a cheap option.
Thanks
Simon
Yes it does reverse the image so it is the same as your car rear-view-mirror image.
Only thing that I had to get used to is the fact that the car that is just overtaking you in your camera is still about 35 feet behind you in real terms. But it didn't take too long to sort it as you can then see it in your offside mirror when they pull out.
I would always hardwire by choice - less chance of interference or loss of picture
Hope this helps

I have a Vision DN2 Camera with a Vision RVM 700 Clip-on Colour Monitor. Just Google Vision UK and you can then have a peek for yourslef.
The connection between car and hitch is by the standard 'N' type connector. I have a male connector on the 'A' frame and a Male connector next to the 13 pin on the car. It's just a thick female-female connecting cable (pre-coiled to stretch with the movement and turning etc) I always spray all my connectors with a fine silicone grease spray so they don't corrode up and have never had any interference at all from it and when disconnected from the van, you can use the monitor as a rear view mirror if you wish as it is also a reflective screen.
Only downside is the cost - the kit was £295+Vat in November 2010 and I had it installed by a company called "Cellcom Mobile Vehicle Solutions" (Google this as well) in Chelmsford Essex Contact is Danny on 07703 483527. They charged £200+VAt to fit it at my home and supplied everything including the connecting cable, and Danny did an amazing job. he hid the cabling behind the van back panel and also in the car. All I have is a small connector protruding out of the headlining next to the rear view mirror. Total cost was £580 but money well spent in my opinion and it has the added bonus that my wife feels at home when towing the rig as it's so similar to just driving the motor.
Hope this all helps, but if you need any more details, then please let me know

Thanks for the comprehensive response.
I have seen what you describe on the web where, for some reason, it is known as a suzi link.
I have priced up similar set ups and they come to around £200 supplied but not fitted.
However digital, interference free, wireless systems cost at least £100 more.
I am definitely drawn to the wired route, but need to save a few more pennies!
