Hi, I posted a topic regards tarps but have since been offered a secondhand Coleman classic awning in grey for around £10.
This seems a bargain as only used once and in great condition and I love the idea of the round pole support as this would suit out tent design, just totally wrong colour, but I can't resist a bargain.
The owner has said he can't provide measurements and to google it, are these all the same size? And how have you found yours?
I am thinking of putting it over one of the tent doors (we have 3, 1 main sloping one and 2 tradesmen side entrances).
we had one (sold it with our tent) and it was a relatively simple way to get all round weather protection for kitchen equipment. As long as the heights are relatively similar I would imagine it would fit next to most tents, the throw over section and side arches are quite generous.
The dimensions are 240cm wide, 150cm deep and 200cm high.
The only issues we ever had with it was the 3d tangle of straps unfolding and refolding it but that is easily overcome by careful folding rather than stuffing it in the bag (as I *may* have done )
We had one a few years ago its massive the material measures nearly 5m x 5m not many guying points and it wanted to be a kite as soon as any wind got up only used it once and then sold it on personaly i would buy one unless there was nothing else available

Everything has been said before, but since nobody ever listens we have to keep going back and saying it all over again and again and again
we had it up in serious wind on the west coast of Scotland and it was fine (we pitched it in fine weather, then it got windy) There are 3 single guying points on the top and 2 doubles either side of the canopy.
Solid enough from my POV BUT I would never try to pitch it in wind as (as arsenaldes says) it would be one huge kite.
that above photo was on a totally exposed site near culzean and there was a huge storm that night. It didn't shift at all. If I'd known how windy it was going to get I would've taken it down lol.
I think the one I'm looking at is a different design to yours(brickiemum).
Its like this;

Still haven't managed to upload photos properly, I'm guessing you have to use photobucket or something.
Unfortunately that is not a picture of the coleman classic awning

whoops! apologies! I thought ours was the classic side canopy with the enclosed one being the premium. Please ignore me...totally different product Had no idea there was another canopy in this range.
We have one but I have to say it was massive and too much of a trouble to bother with. We then got a smaller vango ( adventure?) tarp which is brilliant and fits our bude 4 like a dream. I think there are some pics on here somewhere from another person who recommended it to me in the first place.

Ditto! We had one in 2011, had the bright idea it would go over the cabin of the trailer tent we had then and provide us with a quick-pitch porch. Wrong! It was an absolutely massive piece of flappy fabric and took longer to pitch than the TT, plus would have been terrible in windy conditions.
Luckily, we got ours from Amazon. Also luckily, as it turns out, the guys were wrongly attached, so they took it back.
I wouldn't recommend it. Too big, too wide and not nearly enough pegging points.

Yep another vote here from the "leave 'em well alone" lobby...
We bought one 5-6+years ago...and we were never able to use it in anger! We tried to put it up at Glastonbury one year and it nearly dragged us across the site!?...
They're just a big, flappy sail of thing ...my advice would be to get something with more(some!) framework to it..
