Hi all, Just got myself a coleman 635 lantern on Ebay (£25) its - given it a god polish, so far it works - just LOVE IT its beautiful!! (whod've thunk could get so excited about an geriatric lantern??)

anyway, I digress...can anyone tell me how long a mantle lasts? never used one before!! (mantles are 1111)

How long is a piece of string?. It depends how you treat them, if you bash the lantern around the mantle will break,if you treat it gently the mantle could last months. By the way as you were polising the lantern did the Coleman genie spring forth? .
