We bought a second hand trailer the year before last. Shamed to say we've only used it for one trip. It hasn't got a jockey wheel and we are thinking of getting one for this season. How do I know which kind to get? Our trailer is similar to the Daxara 127 but a different make (and for the life of me I can't remember what!

Can anyone help me?

has your trailer got a jockey wheel clamp still in place??

if so you need to know the diameter of the clamp as to which diameter of jockey post to get ( most are 48 mm ) then purchase a jockey wheel from your local caravan spares outlet or go on ebay, they are not that expensive, from £20 upwards

If it doesn't have a clamp, you can just as easily get the clamp and jockey to fit, examples shown here and a suggested clamp and jockey found here.

If your trailer is a similar spec to the Daxara, you'd only need the smaller 34mm clamp and jockey to be honest but nothing stopping you fitting the larger 48mm assembly.

Is it an Erde? Very similar to the Daxara but more of them about.

I put a small (34mm) jockey wheel on my trailer (trailer is engineer built) They are widely available from accessory shops and clamp or bolt to the drawbar.
