It doesn't need to be pegged down. It folds to about 10cm high and the carry bag is the same dimensions as the folding tops. Not tiny but not huge either.
We have one. Be aware that the metal is quite flimsy and can bend. We managed to bend it when straightening out one of the hinges over the cupboard. It's still useable but it is a weak point.
