I have a hi gear voyager 6, a good easily pitched tent that we use for weekends and short breaks that has served us well. However this week camping in the New Forest it was attacked by ponies,we had left food sealed in our cool box and bags of crisps in the porch area and came back from an excellent day out to be greeted with a hole about 6 feet long by 3ft high.
Inside the cool box was opened and raw sausages, burgers etc half devoured. All the crisps gone, eggs smashed.
One of the neighbours saw just a rear end of a pony sticking out...
Anyway anyone got any ideas on possible repairs or ways to save the tent? Besides the large hole and hoof marks it seems o.k.
Sorry to read about the pony attack. I'm sure you'll be able to repair it well enough to carry on camping. Some people even carry a repair kit with them, just in case: tank tape, glue, needle and thread can repair a lot of damage. Best wishes, and it's a reminder to the rest of us that food in a tent can attract all kinds of interested creatures, and not just ponies. Mice, foxes, squirrels and many others are always looking for a tasty snack.
