Since I had my Montana 6 with the matching tent carpet, I couldn't live without this luxury any more - I need one for every tent of mine! But funds are low, so I had to find a creative and cheap solution.

I made a carpet for my bell tent from some thick fabric for furniture, but it is very bulky. So one day ALDI had those protecting sheets you put on the floor when decorating. They are made from shredded cloth, mostly grey, with spots in different colours, and the back is made from plastic that makes the whole sheet nearly "stick" to the groundsheet of the tent. They are lightweight and very flat when folded, and insulate amazingly well. I like the colour, it's neutral, so fits to all tent colurs, yet you wouldn't see any dirty spots, and if they get too dirty, I just bin them and buy some new!

Here are some pictures where I use them in different tents. The only downside is that i use to stumble over the edges where the sheets meet, but this can be solved by connecting them with tape on the back.

We use those cheap picnic blankets with the PVC backing.
There's a shop called B&M (Billy and Millie's) and they sell them for £3.99 a blanket. Ok, they probably won't cover the entire floor, but they are small, lightweight and could probably survive a cool short washing machine cycle.

Cheap alternative to carpets :-)
