We're thinking of buying a new table, and would like something a bit bigger than our current one (which is something like this: current table)
Does anyone have any experience of the double roll top tables (like this: roll top table)
Specifically, does the top get knocked off accidentally if someone stands up without thinking? Is it sturdy? If we play cards on it, are they likely to slip between the gaps? Any information welcome!
Hi
We have that exact table and love it!!! there is less that a mm between the slats so nothing falls down!!! it is sturdy enough in winds etc etc, but i am sure table would go over if someone tried hard enough lol!!! best of all i love it because it works like a draining board for washing dishes. The only thin i would say depending on your chairs it can be a bit high for comfortable card playing!!! I have these http://www.grasshopperleisure.co.uk/royal-president-luxurious-portable-camping-chair-1530-p.asp and find i have to keep stretching up.. for playing cards i much prefer this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Regatta-Folding-Camping-ClevaCAMPER-Collapsable/dp/B00BS8TP7M which can be higher for eating then reduces in height for games
Hope this helps
Sitting at mine right now! They are great and we do play cards on ours, of course things will occasionally fall through slats but it doesn't often happen.
We also have a wipeable tablecloth to use if we want to, but it is not really necessary to be honest.
Not easy to knock the top off, and they are lightweight but sturdy enough for what we want, we had 7 people round ours eating at the weekend.
Well worth it if you want a nice big table for lots of people.
Jane.

We were going to get the double roll top table, but in the end went for 2 of the singles... it gives us far more flexibility - festivals we only take 1, we use one for food prep/washing up/etc and the other for eating at. When we use the both together, we just put a tablecloth over them both.
