new to caravanning and been trying to sort out my tv aerial, the van has a status aerial, not sure what model number it is but the van is a 1991 abi and the aerial looks like a flying saucer on top of the van and in the cupboard is a control panel with 2 switches, one is the on/off switch, the other says normal/low, it has 3 plugs in the bottom, one is ant. in, which i have pluigged in the lead that comes through the ceiling, the other 2 say fm-tv, i have plugged in coxial into one of the fm-tv and into the back of my built in freeveiw tv, have searched for both analogue and digital signals in both low and normal setting on switch but doesnt pick anything up at all,

not sure if it makes a difference but the van is not on 240v at the mo and the tv is being run off an exxtension lead from my house

any ideas or advice

thanks

The aerial you have is probably a Status 315 or 330 model. Have you checked to see if the coax cable is actually fixed to the aerial because when I had my caravan nearly 3 years ago I spent weeks on end with the same problem only to find that someone had cut the coax cable and shoved it back into the hole above. I took it for granted that it was connected but I had to buy another aerial because you cant access the connections inside the round dish. Regarding the 2 switches on the power pack the on/off has to be switched on for the aerial to receive a signal. The other switch is for pulling the signal in if you are too close to the transmitter. The remaining two connectors below are one of for the TV 'out' and the other a reception for a fixed radio.
