Hi, I considered the mover you mention in the link. My caravan is very small and lightweight, but that's relative - it's not lightweight when you have back problems. I decided that one wasn't good enough simply as it had to be wound by hand (using back muscles?) as I also have severe back probs. Bought a Mr Shifta which was nearly as bad as just pushing the van, because of the drive surface, mostly, although it did help a bit.

In the end I had a purpleline enduro fitted, and bought a wider jockey wheel.. even though it was a lot of expense, because I really hated coming home and having all that push and shove business. It was the best thing I ever did, cost nearly as much as the van, was a big expense for me, but there you go. In my case, it was simply not worth mauling about and making the back problems worse, or waiting for one of my lads/passing neighbour to come and help.

I'm on an awkward narrow road with a bank opposite, so not really enough room to reverse, even if there weren't always parked cars in the way. 4" rise to drive, another slope to final resting place. Best thing I ever did.

I went through the same process of elimination for the same reasons as yourself jax365.
Like you I decided the hitch type and MrShifta were next to useless. I actually had a trial with a neighbours MrShifta.
I also ended up getting a PowrtouchHD2 mover, expensive but if I wanted to continue caravanning it was a no brainer..
