Having camped last week and got a dit chilly at night we decided new sleeping bags are required. So having spent all week researchingvand making a decision we went to go outdoors today with a couple in mind to choose between. Having decided we want to camp in to October if not longer 3 or possibly 4 season was the basic requirement. We had it narrowed down to Coleman big basin or vango nitestar 350. They had none of the investors in stock only 3 go outdoors in the country have them in. The Coleman has left us very puzzled. The website and filename own website makes definitely a 4 season. But the packaging in the shop details it as 1-2 with temperatures to match. So we are back to square one. Back to researching and trying to find something which fits the bill.
Anyone any advice about any equivalents?

whatever you decide on..make sure it zips in two..we just had to buy a new one as our other one didnt fit in the machine..dont fancy trips to the laundrette. We just bought the outwell cedar double..but we use a duvet too so we didnt need a realy thick one..good luck finding one at a reasonable price.Just one more thing..I wish they would make the stuff sacks bigger..was a struggle getting our new one back in the bag...took 2 of us to get it back in..lol..

Glamper Wendy has a point my vango does not zip in two, but we do use a liner in it most of the time.
Saying that you are not suppose to wash sleeping bags that often as it does ruin the filling.Hence why i use a liner.

Just to say you're not really supposed to wash sleeping bags unless they get soiled, just turn them inside out and hang them up to air out between uses. You can use a liner if you find the idea of not washing the bag between uses a bit revolting! Just don't wash them too often, washing damages the loft and you can loose a lot of the insulation effect in a bag.

Hi valk_scot, I think our current ones have only ever been washed twice in about 10 years. Does sound a bit grim when you think about it I suppose, but thy always get well aired etc.

The costco ones are a good buy. Very warm but have zips to open them up for more ventilation in the warmer months.

I wash mine on a cold wash using pure soap flakes. Usually after I've slept in it for about a fortnight. Going on 4 years of use now (not continuously!) and still as warm as when I bought it. I tried a liner, it was so uncomfortable it soon got chucked out again!
