No worries you will love the cobb once you get used to its foibles, it's all about trial and error really. i have found it very hard to overcook anything with the lid on so when doing something for the first time tend to leave it longer rather than peeking in all the time.
It's no exact science as you will find out and it can burn slightly different each time you light it.
We've had the same Cobb for about six years and we love it. We have never needed to oil it? We keep it in it's bag in the garage when not in use and it is fine.
It cleans up really well, though needs a good scrub - Brillo works well. I suspect ours will wear out from use and cleaning eventually. The Cobb has changed our camping, we have some great meals, chickens are easy. I cooked apple sponge on it this summer - just because I could!!
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
