Went to go outdoors today and spotted a new fuel for trangia and alcohol spirt burners on the shelf next to the meths. Fuel 4 Bio-Ethanol Spirit Fuel for spirit burners.
Was £3.40 for a 750ml bottle. I wondered if it burned like the gel they do with no soot on my pans. I did ask a member of staff about it all they could say it had only came in this week and they had no information about it.
So I ued and ared about trying it and I thought if it was any good I buy the 5litre bottle of it which was on sale for £15.
Well I've tried it on my trangia 25 boiling the kettle which holds o.9ltr of water took 10mins to boil and no soot just a very light brown heat stain of on the bottom of the kettle. Result no more dirty pans. Burned a blue flame through the jets and a yellow flame in the centre of the burner.
Its just like the B&Q bio ethonal fuel for fires but without the soot. B&Q one is £5 for 2litres.
Going to ask my local winfeilds camping stove if they are going to stock the fuel4 liquid as the gel is always on offer at a lot less than go outdoors. Fuel4 gel is 3 ×1ltr cans are £10 in go outdoors £5.99 a can.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
