We have an Avondale Cheviot 1997. Just above the rail where the awning if threaded through is a rubber trim. We need to replace this trim but I cannot find a replacement product anywhere! Does this trim have a special name that I need to use???

It would help if you can put a pic up for identification, even if just in your gallery image.

From your description it sounds like a seal fastened under the awning rail. Or do you mean the plastic in-fill that goes into the aluminium rail, covering the screw heads?

Having a guess at what you are meaning,if the trim is BLACK then this is the awning rail seal and a new one comes with the rail itself.

If the trim is a colour say, white or green then, this can be replaced its the awning rail trim.

just measure how much you need and a metre more and take a short length to a caravan dealer who will supply it.

Failing that, measure the width of it and order here

This is 12mm wide. Click

If it's the rail seal (black) as jeff said, then olearys advised to replace the rail without it. We resealed fine without it. If you really want more, you can send a cross section to O'Leary's and they will try to get you a match.

They also sell trim at a reasonable price.

Dear AndyDW, Jeff Juke, Frannyvan,

Thank you for your replies.

I think what I am needing is a replacement for the plastic infill that goes in the aluminium rail covering the screws!!!!!

So any ideas on what this is called so I can order over the Internet please? Or do I need to go to caravan accessories supplier in person to check out their stock?
Many thanks for your help

i think it's correct name is Herzim strip. It's widely availabe on the net, or any half decent caravan supplier will stock it.

Not all the older colours seem to be available though. I was unable to get a light blue colour for my 96 Mirage.

Also, yours may have have faded with age. You might have to change all the lot to match.

Fortunately it's not too expensive, I'm in the process of removing all my mouldings and re-sealing. I'm buying new strip at 0.70p per metre, but had to go for a colour change.

I found a company called 'Phoenix Trims'.

They did all sorts, but my nearest caravan shop had it in already, so I went there.
