Going away this weekend first time in our new van previously we towed with brothers l200 with canopy over bed so plenty of storage in car for kids buggy trike etc. This time im towing with my own car vw passat saloon, slightly less storage lol. So where is best to put all the kids stuff I have a full awning but being novices and only going away for weekend dont really fancy struggling with it. Would a porch awning be more suited to weekend hols? Where do you guys store the kids bikes etc????

hi ayrstu do you want a porch awning the same type as your full awning or light weight one do you want 260 or 390 .i dont have any kids but when being away kids tie there bikes to the a frame or round caravan leg with a chain and lock .

I've upgraded over the past couple of years froma small porch awning (big enough for your shoes, coats etc) to a 260cm and now a 390cm awning. I love how light they are and how easy they are to erect.

I also have a full awning with annexe but this is only used on 5 night plus trips as the 390 is big enough for shorter stays.

Here's my 390

And to prove the space we sat and fed 12 people in it on Saturday.

As for storage the bikes go on the roof of the car. On site they are locked outside the van to the drawbar.
