Hi
Last year we were camping on a very basic site miles from the facilities and quickly found that carrying the porta-loo to empty it was hard work. (I also discovered that emptying it before it actually got full was a very good idea).
I thought about buying a trolley this season but would one of those £25 folding trolleys do the job? Just wondering about it coping with rough or uneven ground. Anyone got any suggestions?

We have one of these for the same reason. Makes it easier if the chemical disposal is a bit of a schlep. Has a stated carrying capacity of 35kg, so copes fine with a full/nearly full 20 litre cassette.
Obviously runs better on smooth ground but is manageable on grass too, albeit with a bit more of a bumpy ride.
Folds away to a very neat compact size and very easy to store away - ours is in the gas/storage locker of our FC.

We have the same as LightFantastic, which is ideal for the job, light as a feather and folds down really small.

I have a folding trolley from Towsure which I use to transport the porta loo or the water container. I use a bungee strap to attach it to the trolley and then just pull it along behind me.------------- Helen xx

We use the same trolley as Lightfantastic. Its also used for the dirty water container too. Its very light and folds down small enough to to store on FC front locker.

I just use my wastemaster, there is a raised end and the loo cassette sits on nicely with the help of a bungee.
Emptying then both a the same time seems to work well and one less thing to buy and carry.------------- It is a wise man who has something to say.

Ikea sell the upright trolley things at their tills for £7.99!!
EDIT: £9 not 8, here they are http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/30129959/------------- Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish.
Feel nostalgic (probably the wrong word) for the trailer tent, but love the caravan. "Camping" all year round is fantastic.

I have the ikea one, it's probably adequate for what you want. But when I bought the strong one from Funky Leisure at £40 I was really impressed, it has proper tyres and is so sturdily made. Because of the pneumatic tyres it doesn't clog up with wet grass. It's a godsend in soft ground, mud or sand. I use it for festivals too but also I am a crafter so I often set up for craft fairs, and my trolly is the envy of the other stall holders and crafters - and it gets used around the garden too. It has a capacity of 120kg and I find gets a lot of use and is worth the price.

We use a fold up trolley from Maplins. It has large wheels so no problem on grass and takes 70kg, see here
