First night we do pasta and sauce (one pot) and garlic bread (Dutch oven or grill).
Saturday is a BBQ so just a bucket grill/ cadac to clean.
You really only save on food and clothes as everything else is a necessity IMHO
------------- You can't beat loitering within tent :-)
This is an area that I keep playing around with! It seems to me that everything is just as essential for one night as it is for a week. I really would like to be a minimalist camper but it never happens. We are going away on Friday for three nights and I am already dreading how I am going to fit all the stuff in the car without even thinking about setting up and packing away! Jolly good fun whilst there though and I am enjoying reading all the answers on this thread.

If its just a weekend, everything you need for a comfortable stay can be stored in a 60-80 litre rucksack, with room to spare, including food
Not with my back. unless I have tent I can stand up in, table, chair, cooking stand and my 10cm SIM I will be unable to move
