Has anyone had any problems with Vango airbeam awnings leaking water through the seams?
We have had terrible problems with Vango and Tamworth Camping and was wondering if anyone else has had any issues? Vango are blaming the problems on UV degradation (after 35 days of usage!). We also met someone while we was in Portugal who had exactly the same problem and it was the 1st time he'd had the awning out of the bag! Dealing with Vango is like banging your head against a brick wall so considering our next course of action. Would be interested to see if anyone else has had similar problems with them.
We have a Vango Varkala 420 that was pre ordered at the NEC caravan show at the NEC. It was delivered in time to use at Easter.
The first we used it one of the Air Beam had a leak, Vango sent a replacement on a next day delivery to site, the weather was good and dry so we thought all was okay.
The last two days of our holiday the awning leaked like a sieve along all the seam joints.
It was returned and collected by PJ Camping who could not have been more helpful.
It was returned to Vango to Scotland for repair/replacement, when it was returned direct from Vango it hadn't been replaced, it looked as if they had just stuck seam tape over the joints, this was all wrinkled and looked really rough. I rang PJ Camping requesting either a full refund or a complete replacement.
A new awing was dispatched from a new batch that had only arrive a few days earlier. We have used it twice but have only had one light shower and no sign of a leak yet.
We are away with it at the moment so will keep you posted.
