When I was pricing up a trailer, I found the Brenderup 1150s with extension sides and ABS lids to be slightly cheaper than a Lider trailer with similar spec.
However, the helpfulness and good communications with Litchfield Trailer Centre sealed the deal for me.
I am very pleased with my Brenderup, tows like a dream, and very well made.

Are looking at new or second hand? If second hand it just depends what sort of deal comes up for a trailer in your area. Limiting yourself to just a Brenderup 1205 will mean you will find it difficult to pickup one at a good price (compared to others).
I would also consider the Erde 193 (also branded Daxara 198). I have the smaller version of this (Daxara 158 with ABS lid and load bars) and its a great trailer and spares/accessories more easy to come by.
If you are looking at the smaller lider ie the Seville take a close look at the specs before buying as this comes in 2 versions one with 10 inch wheels the other 13 inch wheels (preferable). The lider saragos is the one that is a comparable size to the brender 1205.
Well if I was in the market now to buy a new Trailer, then the Anssems GTB 750-211 VT2 would be my first choice, at just over £2k you would never need any more trailer, the payload is 830kg so more than enough to cope with any amount of camping gear.
Second choice for a little less money and still a good 400kg capacity would be the Lider Box Trailer 32930.
Both of the above are braked Trailers so can be pulled by any car.
For us back in 2009 my budget was tight, and with just £800 available we bought a new Lider Alicante with all the trimmings, at the time VAT was just 15% so even that helped a little.
Today though the Lider baggage Trailers like the Seville, Alicante and Saragos are not what they used to be, the sides are not as tall and the floor is now Plywood and not Steel.
Whatever you go for, I would say aim to get a Trailer that has 13" Wheels, most Trailers with this size wheel seem to be really well built for the job, more so than smaller wheeled Trailers.
Used to have a 400lt RoofBox on the Trailer but came accross the 520lt version being sold local, so I now have a 400lt RoofBox that I need to get sold.
What I like about our icle Lider Trailer is that even with the RoofBox fitted I can still get a view through my car rear view mirror, albiet in WideScreen vision.
One of the mods I do is to add a ThirD Brake Light as the one on the car becomes obscured, cheap to buy and easy to fit.
I'm currently leaning towards the Anssems GTB 750-211 VT2 or Anssems GTB1200.251VT2 Trailer.
The second one is a bit longer, might be useful as I'm thinking of putting 3 bikes IN the trailer.
Leyland leisure sales will knock the full price of rental off the purchase price if you rent a trailer from them and later buy one. Could be worth a couple of hundred if you try one out for a fortnight? Don't know if they have those models available for rental though.
Otherwise might look into buying one in Europe, about £400 cheaper IIRC as they are about the same number but in Euros.
Might have to wait until next summer due to lack of funds 😠
Edit: can pick up the 1200 for £400+ less in Germany, could use the £400 and have an almost free holiday whilst there!
Yep Jazzist.
When I looked into getting the Anssems, I got a price of a dealer up here in the North West, but then after doing a quick google soon worked out that it would be cheaper for me to drive over to Holland and bring one back, and still be £500 better off.
Now would be a good time to go across the water for an Anssems as the € is being battered by the £.
My next unit will be an Adria Altea Tay 432 PX Caravan, so will be sticking with my current set up until then.
I'm going round in circles. Like the idea of towing bikes in the trailer especially as they might be v expensive bikes towed across Europe. But... I could just get cheaper bikes so...
Going to start looking at folding camper websites now as that trailer is getting there on price or at least a decent way towards one. From another thread "If you need lots of space go for a folding camper. They have as much usable internal space as a large caravan, 2 fixed beds, have toilets etc. and are easily towable by your car. They take 10 minutes longer to set up than a caravan."
Don't want a caravan as my car can only tow 1000kg despite being 105hp, want to be well within this so I'm not going 2000 miles in 4th gear on the motorway instead of 6th :)
