We do have a tv that we take with us,i first bought it last year when we where down at Hardwick, but we have only used it once.We went away at the weekend and we never used it then.
We take a small TV and a portable DVD player as my daughter likes entertainment at night as she is 13 and it gets to be very expensive it you go out every evening so we enjoy a film snuggled up in the tent

Carly,
What do you do with them overnight to stop them getting damp? Are they ok in the tent?
Many times we have been away and it has rained for days, and we said never again but only if we had a tv or dvd... hey they never had tv's in the old days and look how many kids they had lol
So may be we should havetaken the tv cheaper in the long run!

LOL...Glad to see the opinions differ. When I read the first few postings I thought I was awful for taking the telly!!
With the threee girls age 7, 11 and 14 in a confined space u can imagine what the arguing is like if they DONT have the telly to distract them in the morning/evening. Now the teenager is permanently plugged into her iPod and the other 2 r happy to watch a dvd or telly whilst hubby and I get organised. Like someone said earlier my kids also fight over board games (they would fight in an empty room!).
So its the DVD for the car, telly and dvd for the Dandy, wine for mum and beer for Dad, oh and a good book for each of us and the kids..and George Foreman for Sausages...
