Much to my annoyance, our king-size Intex air bed with integral pump, ( hugely comfy and supportive) has a slow puncture.
Is anyone aware of either an airbed that doesn't puncture if you stare at it, or a comfortable alternative to an airbed?
Thanks
Nick

Any air bed, no matter how much you spend, has the potential to develop a leak and therefore deflate.
A comfortable alternative which won't go down in the middle of the night is a folding camp bed with a SIM on top.

Another vote for camp bed + SIM combination after my trusted airbed developed a leak mid trip one winter.

Even if the SIM leaks, it can still offer insulation and comfort on top of the camp bed.

Ditch the air bed, they are the work of the devil! Never warm up and you look a prat when, on a hot day being to hot to pump the thing up in the tent you decide to do it outside the tent, to find it won't fit back in via the door. I was much younger and less experienced back then!

The only airbed I have had which lasted more than a few trips was a 1960's Lilo which lasted me years. Since then I have wasted a fortune on useless airbeds and now use a campbed with a cheap SIM on top...no hassle pumping, no leaks, and warmer than an airbed.

I'll go with the self inflating mattresses too. We put up with our airbed for years until it gave up at the bearded theory festival this year on the first night. As luck would have it Aldi had their camping deal on so we nipped into town and bought a couple for £28 and I have to say they are the best thing ever. These ones inflate to 5cm depth and we find them much more comfortable than the airbed and get a better night's kip. There's no roll-together or bouncy annoyance when the other one is getting out of bed and we've found we're much warmer too. Easier to get dressed in the bedroom too as you can kneel or stand up without wobble!

I've has so many different makes of airbeds, expensive and cheap ones, they are all unreliable, so much so when I camp now I take two of the stupid things with me so if the one I'm using deflates etc. I have a spare.
