Hi there, we are away at the moment using our new coleman cooker with coleman fuel, but seem to be going through fuel at a rapid rate, ie one tank a day, this is just using it for bacon in the morning and a few cups of tea and a one pot meal of an evening, I did read on here that one tank lasted someone for 5 days!. Also when I shut off the valve it still seams to be letting out fuel for a good minute after, is this normal. I removed tank to fill it and pressurised it away from cooker then opened and shut the valve and fuel seemed to just keep coming out of ignition tube for a good minute or so, is my valve faulty or is this normal, any advice would be appreciated, off to petrol station now to get some lead free petrol to use as have gone through 5 bottles of coleman fuel in 5 days .
There are single and double Colemans, the double has a much larger fuel tank which could last a few days.
Coleman give a burn time of about 2 hours with both double burners on full.
The single is more powerful than one of the burners on the double so after about an hour it will probably need filling. I used to top ours up every other day with light use.
It does take a minute or two for the flame to go out completely after closing the valve, this is normal.

I camped on my own for 6 nights for my last trip, and used my Coleman Dual Fuel 2-burner stove to cook 5 cooked breakfasts (3 fry ups, 1 x 2 French Toasts with bacon, 1 x bacon sandwich), 1 steak dinner, and 1 lot of soup with 2 slices of toasts.
And I usually use both burners at the same time.
I used about 1L of Coleman Fuel for the lot and still with some left in the tank.
Just bought another litre bottle of Coleman Fuel for my last trip this year in September, and it should be sufficient to last the trip.
Going through 5L of Coleman Fuel in 5 days does sound rather excessive. Therefore, I suspect there may be something not quite right with the fuel tank.

I camped for 6 nights last week, and cooked 8 times using my Coleman 2-burner stove using both rings most of the time.
4 breakfasts: 3 fry ups including onions and mushrooms, one French toasts and bacon; and 2 evening meals: cous cous from scratch with stir-fried chorizo sausages and vegetables and a steak dinner with onions and mushrooms.
There was about one-third of a tank to start with, and I topped it up twice from a new 1L Coleman Fuel bottle, and still have about 600ml left in the bottle.
