Hello all. This year we are investing in a carpet, footprint, and blow up sofa to put a little glitz and glamp into our camp. What are your "glamping" essentials to give your tent that posh nosh feel?
thanksX
Cushions and throws, candles in tea light lanterns (for outside the tent only), solar fairy lights, bunting, Cobb BBQ, rotary clothes drier, camping cupboard with hanging pocket organiser on the side, Theford Porta Potti, cafetière, and of course Baileys Irish Cream!
To be fair, I don't understand why anyone wouldn't buy a carpet and footprint for their tent when buying the tent - they are pretty much no-brainers.
BBQ is a great idea - these are half-price at Argos ATM: http://www.tkqlhce.com/click-1428744-10294381?url=http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/3451656.htm#pdpProductReviews
We bought quite a lot of furniture as well, Vango Wardrobe and a few of their mesh fronted storage units. All very nice.
One thing we haven't tried are the solar fairy lights - nice if you have kids.
at george Hincapie. I guess our "no brainier" went over our heads last year when we decided to go on our first camping trip ever. Thanks for your gentle understanding that not everyone shot out of the womb in an Outwell delux tent.
10cm SIM's atop camp bed.
Ultimate comfort. No crawling around on the floor. No creaking knees waking everyone up! Invaluable storage space underneath... and all out of sight, due to the fitted valance sheet!
After years of buying various camp beds, sim's air beds and mats, none of which lasted or were really satisfactory I decided to splash out and buy a proper piece of kit!
There are lots of bedchairs on the market (designed for carp fishing use) they are generally strongly made (but not that compact) only get one with at least 6 legs.
I have just spent the most comfortable fortnight ever (in a tent) on one of these bedchairs can be had from about £60 and should last years.
I wouldn't call it glamping as such but we take our amp metre.
It got us out trouble by not overloading them 6amp camping site what you come across now and again .. I built it myself after getting the idea from here, them went and it tested and it passed so now we can use it all the time and we would never leave it behind
