Hi there, me and the wife are kind of new to caravanning but have loved it that much we changed our car and then got a newer van. So currently have a Hymer Nova 465 which we bought last week. It has an onboard water tank and i was just wondering if its possible to run water directly into it? I seen someone who did this a few weeks back with another van but the Hymer has a different connection. As i said we are still novices. Oh and one other thing. We have a tow ball weight thing and was wondering what is the weight that we should have for towing with a CRV. Says on the car that it can be 100 max. Guy we bought it from said i should have the weight between 75 and 85. Is this right. Thanks
With regard the water most caravans use a water pump to pump from your Aqua roll. This would then fill up your onboard tank. Whale do something called an Aquasource which takes water from the tap direct to your van. This would then fill your tank. I think other manufacturers like Truma do similar. All that said you can connect your Aquaroll to the mains with an additional hose and use your current pump.
As for the nose weight. Your car will have a maximum to ball load which it sounds like is 100KG. Your van nose weight should not exceed that and should be between 5 and 7% of the MTPLM of your van. If your MTPLM was 1.5 tonne then you nose weight would be between 75 and 105kg. Some say nearer 7% is better.
