Just blanked off status aerial and bought a vision plus one on pole which attached to jockey wheel which works ok now . But need to run 2 tv when attached to status booster in wardrobe and plug in tv sockets i dont pick anything up !! Will the status booster work with normal aerial ??? or best to replace with new booster or bypass it ? any info welcome

The status aerial distribution amplifier should work with any aerial.

If its like ours there are two outputs on it one for the TV and one for the VHF Radio which is a totally different frequency band to the UHF of TV.

Your vision plus aerial on the pole needs to plug into the input. If you want to run 2 tv's you will need a splitter to split the TV output for 2 tvs

Your problem is more likely to be a cable or connection problem than the amplifier.

This depends on the type of 'booster' you have fitted.
The earlier Status 'booster', wasn't an amplifier at all, it was a remote power supply and could only be used with the Status 315 it was intended for, because the amp was in the aerial itself.

If the logo on the 'booster' is screen printed in a purple colour, it won't work, chuck it out.
If it's the later orange coloured logo, then it IS a full booster and would normally work, however they weren't hugely reliable and yours could well be dud (regardless of whether the power lamp is lit or not).

I would advise you buy one of the newer variable amps such as one of these from Fringe Electronics. Digital TV coverage is fairly good through the UK now, but the fixed level output boosters can actually provide too high a signal strength sometimes (which funnily enough can display a symptom like a weak signal), so a means of varying strength for best operation is the better idea.
