Looking to purchase a camping stove. It's three children and me going up to the Wasdale for four days, so I'm going to need something a bit better than my now disfunctional little portable gas stove.
Have been looking at some of the double campingaz stoves, but these have mixed reviews.
Stay clear of hi gear? Consider Coleman? Ignore the bad campingaz reviews?
I use a campingaz chef and have been using it for year, in never had no problem with it and the grill work well much better that others we tryed before we brought this
If it's just a hob you need (not a grill) then I would suggest a couple of these
they are cheap and easy to pack and run off of disposable gas cannisters.
If you want something that uses refillable gas cylinders then something like this works well.

We are a family of 4, 3 adults 1 child & we use a cpl of the suitcase stoves as in the above link . Works fine for us have no problems cooking full english, curries, etc for us all.
Easy to clean, easy to pack & i don't find they use much gas .
Haven't tried any other stoves so i can't say how good or bad they are in comparison but for us they work just fine.
I second the Campingaz Camping chef, great, well priced and reliable and a good grill.
We have been using ours for about 14 years, still as reliable as ever, we are currently using it in Scotland on our holidays, and I have cooked for as many as ten people using it!
If anything went wrong with it I would not hesitate to buy another.

Yep, another vote for the CampinGaz Chef, we replaced our old CampinGaz cooker for a new CampinGaz a Chef back in 2008, only because it was on at the bargain price of £20! and that included the Regulator and Hose.
Also picked up the none Grill version "Camping Kitchen" for our Son (29) from Tesco a couple of years back, on offer at just £6.50! although it only came with the Hose, so he had to buy the regulator which cost £5 still a bargain though at £11.50 all in.
