Has anyone info about Bradcot Portico Porch awning, regarding how they actually fit onto caravans. My understanding is the awning is fitted into the awning rail from the bottom, pushed upwards then forward, then vertically down to the ground against the caravan wall. Meaning the porch awning has only one loose vertical wall, whilst the other wall is fixed into the caravan rear vertical awning rail?.
Just started caravanning since retiring, and plan continental touring. A full awning for my 520/4 berth seems rather large, so a porch awning seems a better idea (I think) liked the idea of this Bradcot Portico awning if it is what I think it is. Are there other Porch awnings similar. This is my first Post, hope it's not too obvious

A Bradcot Portico porch awning slides through the awning rail along the roof and the two sides fit down the side wall of the caravan. If you look at the images in the link you can see how it fits.

I have a Bradcot Portico Porch awning, once you have slid it along the awning rail the only part attached to the caravan is the roof. Both sides have poles and padding that push to the van but are not attached. This link should give you an idea of what it looks like.

I have an old Harrison porch awning which fits onto a caravan as you described. I assumed it was made for a particular length of caravan rather than being universal but I modified it to fit any van. I think all the newer types are only connected via the roof as already mentioned.

Thanks for the quick response. It seems I've misunderstood the awnings sales rep at Glossop then. I pacifically asked if there was such a porch awning that used the awning rail for one vertical wall, with just one vertical wall held against the caravan wall with a pole. He immediately responded with the Bradcot Portico XL+. I've found this site> this site<(sorry, don’t know how to create links in this forum)from your links sent to me, which does suggest what I originally asked for to that sales rep, but not a Portico awning. Or am I again wrong?

I have a Portico + and I think it would fit as the salesman says. I have not fitted like that myself as it was not appropriate for my van.
Happy caravanning !

my update regarding Bradcot portico awnings. I should have mentioned that particular awning is the 'Portico XL+'so apologise for not getting my facts right (didn’t know there was some many different models). The Portico XL, & XL+ can actually use the vertical awning rails as an option instead of 2 rear post if required (Bradcot website), so Glossop sales rep did actually get it right. I wont mention a sales rep at a Doncaster dealership who gave me totally incorrect info regarding the same awning.
So now we all know.
