My tin of Mer is finished, so before I replace it was just wondering if there was anything new on the market that is as good as Mer?
I need something that is good at removing black marks from the hard "plastic" (if that's what it is) around the locker doors and the wheel arch trims.

Fenwicks? Although the stuff i bought from one of the £1 shops did a great job recently.

I was going to use it as a pre wash before using the fenwicks. But it didnt need a 2nd wash.

I use the sort of cream cleaner you have in the kitchen for the trim around the locker doors. Seems to do the job.

Mer is still up there with the best, other polishes have improved over the years but so has Mer
Turtle Wax ICE Synthetic Paste Polish is very good but is £20 a go, and hard work because its a paste.
Halfords own brand is very good, sprays on and at £3.99 is a bargain.
I would give this one a try before spending silly money on some of the fancy priced polishes, i think you will be surprised how good it is
I tried Fenwicks and it made the rubber window seals streak all over the van, re-cleand all the rubber seals with silicone polish and dumped the fenwicks

The best wax I have ever used is Maguiars carnauba wax great stuff no white chalkyness and glass like shine.

Mer is a very aggressive cleaner, it does do the job but something like Meguires cleaner wax will do as good as job and is a bit kinder to the surface.

Elbow grease liquid from the cheap shops like pound world/poundland/home bargain etc £1 a bottle excellent in getting black streaks off.
