Hi,
We have a folding camper with proper double beds which we use for family holidays, but I am lusting after a Bell tent to use when I go away with my two girls for short breaks.
I don't like airbeds and I have been looking at roll up mattresses like this...

(Sorry but I can't seem to make the link work properly.)

Do any of you have experience or opinion of these or something similar?

Many thanks,
Becky

We use Duvalays in the Caravan, they are fantastic and combine a mattress topper and quilt all in one. Makes bedtime really easy :

My two pennys worth is that I think you'd be better getting a self inflating mat of between 7 and 10 cm such as this one

link to Amazon Self Inflating Mat 10cm

because that mattress you are looking at looks like it's made from bulky padding that will compress with the weight of a person laying on it, making it thinner and less comfy over time. Also I would doubt its insulation properties although you could of course put something under it to help with insulating it from the cold ground. It looks pretty but I think it'll be bulky to transport whereas a Self Inflating Mat (SIM) will compress to a thinner pack size.

If you want to make this one a bit prettier you could custom make a stretch sheet for it, open at one end for easy washing etc.

Not sure on the SIM you've linked to but we found 2 of our SIMS fit great in a single duvet cover to make a double.

I was considering making my own version of a duvalay with all covers removable but would be a waste of our current sleeping bags and hubby is a duvet hog so not sure it would work with him. We are actually in a dilemma as no one wants to share a double sleeping bag with him (even the children complain he takes the covers yet he insists they are kicking them off) and he complains he doesn't have enough room in a single square sleeping bag
