I'm not sure if this is the place to post this message but my husband was an avid fan of UK Campsite.co.uk.
Sadly he was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer with brain secondary's in May this year. 3 weeks ago his oncologist decided to stop his treatment because the radiotherapy to his brain had no effect & the chemotherapy had weakened him so much that he is now bed-ridden & sleeps most of the time. She said the intensive treatment would have only added 2 or 3 months if it had been successful.
So now that we have come to terms with his prognosis I now face the task of selling our beautiful Charisma 550 & our perfect tow-car Kia Sorento.
The caravan is 2011 model which we bought in October 2012 & only used last year. The Kia Sorento is the dream car for towing, which my husband avidly searched for & purchased in July 2013. He upgraded the tyres & tow-bar to his high specifications & we enjoyed a 6 week trip to France last year. It has still only done 48,000 miles.
This was our dream set-up after upgrading from our various tents & we were looking forward to many more trips away. Sadly this is not going to happen.
Regular forumites will have read his many posts on here up until this summer, a particular name comes to mind..." Francais" who advised him on obtaining the "tag" for the French toll-booths on motorways & many other contributors to this brilliant web-site, which he logged onto & contributed to daily.
He has been fast-tracked home from hospital & I am caring for him at home. Please remember him when you post on here. He was a big fan.
How sad... there's not a lot anyone can say except try and make the most of the time you have. Many of us i'm sure have been through something similar with people close to us, life's s**t some times (sorry) but he will always be with you deep inside.

My heart goes out to you LindyLou, l know only too well how difficult this is for you, we have a 35yr old daughter with stage 4 breast cancer that has spread in a similar way to your husbands, and she too has secondries in her lungs, liver and brain. All you can do is enjoy the time you have left to the full, share the memories of the good times you had, and know that nothing or no one can ever take those memories away, sending you hugs,
Julia
