We have just purchased a 2007 elddis crusader super sirocco and tried it out this weekend and have found a problem or two that maybe someone can help with.
the original battery charger has been removed and in its place a 6amp home battery charger which is not right or man enough to do the job ive looked through all paperwork i have and on line and cant seem to find what unit it should have can anyone advise also the external pump wont switch off when tap closed system says its a preasure system where is the press switch located adevice please thanks in advance Trevure
Can't help on the charger problem but the pump problem may be related to it. The pressure switch often needs adjusting due to differing voltage levels.
The switch will probably be in the pipework near the water heater in a bed box.
When the on-board battery charger packed up six years ago I fitted an "intelligent" charger (CETK FS7000). Although it only operates at 7 amps it is a constant 7amp charge and they maintain the condition of the battery by preventing sulphating. While peak demand may exceed 7 amps in the evening the battery will soon regain full charge. The original battery is now 7 years old and still OK. Normal chargers may peak at 20 amps but decline as the battery reaches capacity.

I would say that a 6 amp charge rate for a leisure battery is ample because anything higher than that could effectively over heat the battery causing the internal plates to buckle as a deep cycle leisure battery is designed differently to a shallow cycle vehicle battery so the charge rate needs to be lower. However, the charger needs to be the correct type and not just a standard battery charger as it has a built in computer to detect the state of charge and is designed specifically not to allow it to reach the gassing stage (over charge). I charge my leisure battery at home via a smart charger that charges at a rate of 3.5 amps which is adequate and does the job perfectly but as mentioned, the condition of the battery can have an effect on the power supply which could be connected to the water pressure switch. If the leisure battery isn't fully charged or won't hold a full charge then this will eventually cause the water pump to activate which will consume more power from the battery so you need to obtain a multi-meter and check the condition of the battery first. A fully charged battery should read about 13 volts and then check periodically over a few days without using any power to see if the battery is holding a charge or not. If the battery is defective then the advice is to replace it and most importantly to install the correct type of charger. The battery problem needs to be sorted first before any attempt to reset the water system pressure switch.
If you contact Elddis customer services they may be able to offer advice regarding the correct on-board charger you need which you will find the 'contact us' page in the link below.
