Mine is tighter than that. I have made the gates lift off then the posts lift out and I then have 40mm each side that is why I said that the speed control was good.I have the house wall one side and a brick garden wall the'' other side and travel between the two for 10 Metres so on room for error .One tip carry a spare remote battery as they don't have to drop much below 9volt
