I am considering getting a camp bed which I could use with my SIM on top. I do turn over quite a bit during the night and I am worried about (a) falling off the bed and (b) tipping the bed over. I am used to a double bed to myself at home so plenty of rolling room. How do other people find sleeping on camp beds. Am I worrying unnecessarily or could it be a problem?
You could buy a dounle camp and a double SIM so you still have the same space for turning over that you're used to at home. However most double folding folding beds havea middle bar so the double SIM would need a central seam which will sit over the middle bar and avoids having an uncomfortable ridge.
There are other topics on here about Posadas double beds that you may find helpful.
alternatively buy a 10cm double thermal insulated SIM used on floor so you don't have far to fall if you do roll too far
If you are used to a double bed you are probably used to just rolling over at night but on a single bed or a camp bed you have to shuffle over so you stay in the same place. I think you soon get used to doing that and I have never rolled off mine yet. If you are using a sleeping bag you are probably shuffling over in that already unless it is a cocoon that goes with you.
You are unlikely to tip a camp bed over as the legs spread the full width of the bed.
Although I have a double bed all to myself in theory, I am usually wedged by the dog on one side, and the cat on the other, bless them.
I have a Outwell Laguna XL camp bed, and I have yet to fall out of bed, and I too toss and turn quite a bit through the night, much to the pets' annoyance.

I have just had an Outwell Posadas double bed delivered. Not slept in it yet but since it was delivered a couple of days ago it has been more or less set up in the dining room as it has been a source of interest to our many visitors to the house (hubbys birthday, hence the steady stream of visitors). Even with the weight limit being met on each side the bed has remaind sturdy, static and not tipped. To our great amusement most who have tried it have decided to close their eyes and have had to be dragged off it. I cant imagine what our across the backdoor neighbours must be thinking if they have looked in our patio doors lol. But they all know we're daft!
I am one of those folk who spread out all over a bed and the one side has plenty of room for me.
