Bought a Quest tristar fridge from Decathalon. Its 2 years old and for the first year was fine. Last season it refused to stay lit on gas going out after 45 mins. I ended up wedging cardboard to keep the control knob down and at this point it stayed cold and didn't go out, but I am aware that this ain't safe...... Any ideas what it could be? 12v and mains is great but I need gas for 10 days at the end of July. I have tryed to get in tough with the manufacturere but have had no response.
Sounds like thermocouple has failed. This heats up and keeps gas flowing. If flame gets blown out thermocouple will cool down and cut gas supply. Keeping knob wedged down aint safe because gas will still flow with flame out.
Just in case anyone is ever in this place I found a YouTube video on this issue and bought a thermocouple off ebay. Fridge now works fine on gas. It really wasn't hard to do either 🙂
