Any advice on best deals for mobile WiFi device and plan please? I think approx. 5mb of data per month should suffice, preferably with no up front costs.
Until recently I was paying £5 per month for Vodafone mobile WiFi with 5mb on a 30 day rolling contract, half the price of PAYG and I could cancel it at any time with 30 days notice.
I bought a T Mobile dongle from ASDA a couple of years ago, which seems to work in most places.I pay £30 for 3 gb spread over 3 months , capped at 1gb per month, which I find is plenty(as long as you keep a tight rein on any downloads). But if you only use, say, 500mb,you can't carry over the remaining 500mb to the next month, which is probably the only downside. Even if you go over your allowance you can still surf and check e mails. There is no contract, I just top up when I need it.you don't have to pay for 3 months, you can pay daily or weekly but the longer you pay for , the cheaper it gets. Hope this has helped.
If you already have a smartphone then you can probably use this as a mobile wifi device. On my iPhone, for example, I can switch on 'personal hotspot' and it acts as a personal wifi hotspot. I believe Android has a similar feature called 'portable hotspot'. Your normal mobile phone data allowance/charges will apply.
Obviously that only helps if you happen to have a smartphone. Apologies if that's no use to you!
If you've already got a device (MiFi / tablet / smartphone) which will take a SIM, it's worth searching eBay for "3G data SIM" - there are often good deals on pre-loaded SIMs.
I have a 3 Dongle and usually put £15 on it before we go camping. I like to watch some TV programmes while I'm away if I'm sat in the tent and we also use SkyGo if our team are playing on sky.

I have an Internet box from EE. I think it's called an osprey box. 4G and for 15 GB a month I pay £15. Everywhere we've been camping it's worked brilliantly, and always have plenty left over when we've finished. Great little box, even keeps little un entertained on the journeys as well. Great for watching football on Sky go 😈😈😈😈
