We are off to France camping next week and have purchased a hookup socket as below, am I correct in assuming that you don't need any kind of converter?

Get one of these too: for old French hook up's Not all sites in France use the same connector to hook up to the mains, you can guarantee if you don't have one you'll need one, if you take one you wont!

Agree with kate w .... the old style connections are becoming more rare in France but for the minimal cost involved it is worth taking that adaptor!

I bought one of those 2 pin adapter things (kate w's link) before our first trip to France. So far, we haven't used it. What a bloody waste of money!

OK... we've only been twice, but still, at about £1.20 per trip, that's a lot of wine I could have spent it on!!

We've just come back from 6 weeks in France on a variety of sites and we've had to use the adaptor 4 times. On most sites you could hire/borrow them from reception but best having your own for the cost.
