hi i currently have a 7kg butane calor bottle in my 1996 avondale perle. i want to convert to propane as will be using the van in the winter. its currently got a clip on regulator fitted. can anyone point me to the right regulator i will need for when i swap over and is it just a case of cutting the orange hose and joining to new regulator?

thanks

I presume that your gas pipe doesnt have a brass nut to connect it to the gas bottle. If so you can just cut of the orange pipe and reconnect to a valve suitable for the type of gas you want to use. Use a jubilee clip to make sure its a secure connection. Dont forget to check the age age on the orange gas pipe if its more than a few years old it may need replacing

You can get a regulator and long length of hose on ebay for less than a tenner

I've always got 3 different regulators and hoses with me, they take up little space and means If I run out of gas or forget it then I can use pretty much any type of bottle they sale on site or near by, its just a case of undoing a jubilee clip and popping the correct hose on and I'm cooking on gas!

You can still use you present regulator if you convert to light gas Propane use to be BP so long as your clip on is 27mm.
Glass fibre bottles been using for last 10 years always get my refills from Homebase and you can see level in bottle.
