I have just recently bought a Vango half moon pillow to use with my sleeping pod that has a round cowel. This pillow is designed specifically for this purpose but they are somewhat useless. They are very thin when rolled out and you would need several piled on top of each other to be totally comfortable. Needless to say i'm disappointed with the Vango pillow but i'm still reluctant to take larger pillows from home just to s;eep properly.
Has any other members encountered this problem and found any alternative products?
We have the small camping pillows, probably a third of the size of those at home. Far too thin on their own, but I have two, one on top of the other, Muckerette has three, then placed in home made pillow cases. Cotton for summer, Fleece for winter... colour coded, of course!
As the pillow slips are "the right size", the multiple pillows stay in place. Might work in a standard pillow case, folded over?
Found out this weekend that son and D-I-L took a spare memory foam pillow from home, got the scissors out, and use half each!
Works for them!
We got the snugpak equivalent free with sleeping bags. Too small by far. I can quite happily sleep with sim type pillows but the wife and kids can't. We just take pillows from home in compression sacs.
We've just bought some camping pilows for all of us, as our pillows from home just take up too much valuable car space. The ones we bought are the self-inflating "Your Pillow" by Sho. They're not the cheapest but I have to say it was money well spent. They're surprisingly comfortable and are quite compact when deflated. And the colourful design is lovely!
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
